Our Hearts Were Light and Gay

Ha! I found out today that there's someone who reads us that:

a) Neither of us gave birth to.
b) Neither of us slept with.
c) Neither of us ever will, or will even potentially sleep with. What with him being...uhhh...penile. Like someone from a penile colony. Maybe he's Australian. Isn't Australia a penile colony?

We were informed, without solicitation or any money changing hands, that someone who could be doing important things instead chooses to read our homey little gay blog. On purpose. Not because we're pestering him at work, saying, "Hey! Read this! Do you think I'm brilliant??" Although he's actually the husband of Lori's friend, which sort of makes him a distant relative, so I think we may lose points for that.

Although we're both still vying for the rights to the Feral Mom fantasy, (but not the guitar nightmare...eeek!) any husbands of our friends will be safe from us, and not just because we're a pair of middle-aged dykes with no social skills. But as a consolation prize, all incompatible man-people will receive a "get-out-of-a-potentially-awkward-interaction-free" pass from us, some dubious medical advice, and a lovely parting gift...maybe a cat or two. Because we're neighborly here in Nowhere.

(Heh? Who's your favorite gay blog? Remember, members of the academy, when it's election time...vote early and vote often.)

Hey - I read ya'll and none of you are my parents and/or past, current or future lovers. Also, I'm not related to you anyone you're related to or know and I don't even know anyone you're related to or know. And, I waste a lot of my valuable time commenting as well as reading. I love your gay blog and all your wacky Laverne & Shirley adventures (they were gay, right?) I also love the Dykes Against Harper blog (http://dykesagainstharper.blogspot.com/), but she's a professional writer and very political, so I read her for completely different reasons that I read you. I also like Misster Kitty (http://misster-kitty.blogspot.com/) because he's so damn camp, but has a heart of gold. I've pared my blog reading down considerably, so the other blogs I read are local and/or food related. However, if I gave out the gay blog prize, I'd give it to you guys for sure.

I'm trying to figure out how we're not "related" since Lori is the self-proclaimed "grandfriend" of my children. We have also been the fodder of the blog page a few times now. Which is more appreciative than most of the communicating that we do with our other relatives.
Also, I know that I can make Lori laugh so hard that she will..... you'll have to make her tell you that story sometime. Now that's something only a relative would bring up in conversation. hee hee hee

Oh, I love your blog! I check it every day even though I don't comment very much. This blog and Cedarflame are my favorites and I read several other lesbian blogs. Ev and Lori, you are both very entertaining, each in your own way and I like your pictures too. :)

Ha! This is all proof positive that we're related. After all, our favorite people in the world are each other and our family. Since we like you all so much, you must be related to us.

We just saw Seven Years in Tibet, so we're all hip to the reincarnation idea.

Mom...is that you??

I read you. You're my favourite gay blog.

And I'm sure i'm in no way "related" so I don't even HAVE to read...

How's that for fandom...

Ahem. Yes, in fact, VL can (and will) cause me to quite literally pee my pants laughing. To be more specific, she has made me pee my UNIFORM pants laughing. But the joke was on her, because I'm the one who got to slink out the back and go home in my soggy scrubs while she did penance by staying and doing twice the work for the rest of the afternoon. Neener!

You are absolutely my favorite gay blog! Though I must confess I'm not sure whether other blogs I read are gay or not, and didn't begin reading you for your gayness, but for your inimitable great senses of humor and amazing adventures. Not to mention your love of good coffee...

(And I'm sure we're not related by blood or marriage or sexual relationship...)

But maybe we could be. Lori, do you mind if I sleep with the guests? It'll only be once or twice, I promise!

Wait! The Feral Mom fantasy? I am giddy with the possibilities that such a phrase suggests.

And you have, of course, already won "Best Gay Blog" over at Gone Feral.

Gay? What? really? No, I read your blog for all of those hunting analogies. Love the one about shooting the truck and dragging it home. hee-hee!
