If you don’t have one or the other then you won’t make the most of the time you’ve got. It’s very sad for your son (and for you), but I reckon his dad has finally found what he’s been after most of his life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36308462.post-13216640644233721592008-10-20T09:47:00.000-05:002008-10-20T09:47:00.000-05:00Jessie - thank you for your kind words. His dad was a kind and well-intentioned man with a terrible disease he couldn't overcome, and it's just sad for everyone.Kwachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947544432313181778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36308462.post-73366813225222560972008-10-19T20:37:00.000-05:002008-10-19T20:37:00.000-05:00To my sorrow and my daughter's as well, my ex-husb...To my sorrow and my daughter's as well, my ex-husband, her father, has turned out to be a clinically diagnosed narcissist. She decided several years ago to basically sever her relationship with him, because in the past when she's communicated with him he's ended up trying to sponge off her and make her feel guilty for not taking care of him. He is a user and a loser. He's completely indifferent to her two young children, his grandchildren, for which I'm actually grateful --- I'd rather he stayed away from them. All I can do is be as supportive as I can of her and of my grandchildren.

It's tragic that your son's father's wasted his life, but please remember that your son has also had the good fortune to have you for a mother, someone to support him. It doesn't negate the sorrow, but it may help to make it more bearable for him.

JessieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36308462.post-17807831912987621692008-10-19T20:16:00.000-05:002008-10-19T20:16:00.000-05:00Thanks, Marl. And yeah, you'd love to meet Leon. Then he said, "I've been in lots of bad situations, but God always looks out for me. My wife used to tell me I was workin' the Lord to death!"Kwachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947544432313181778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36308462.post-34909084734141553912008-10-19T19:00:00.000-05:002008-10-19T19:00:00.000-05:00ah, man, that so sucks for your son.
